Traditional and Modern Furniture Finish Five Day Intensive

In this five day intensive course you will learn about finishing furniture with Ollie Piepereit, a professional french polisher.  Ollie will show you how to strip furniture cleanly and safely, how to stain it and prepare it for polishing, how to build up a shellac finish and how to to use waxes.  You can also learn how to restore a damaged finish without completely stripping it. You will also learn about modern alternatives to shellac, including oil based varnishes.

You will practice on sample boards, and you will be asked to bring small pieces to refinish or upcycle.

The small class size - maximum 6 students - allows for plenty of one to one teaching.
