Professional Traditional Upholstery - Level 1

A one year step-by-step course in traditional upholstery, designed for career changers. The course is taught systematically through a series of exercises, from a drop in seat to a fully sprung dining chair.

Teaching is on Fridays. Three twelve week terms each year, with half terms usually coinciding with local  schools. Exercises: drop-in seat, stitched edge square stool, stitched stuffover dining chair, sprung dining chair, scroll arm, and piped zipped box cushion.

Once you have completed this course you can progress to Level 2, which focuses on historic techniques, including a well seat and deep buttoning, and includes the complete re-upholstery of a traditional armchair.
